I don't consider myself a plane spotter but I do enjoy heading out to Tampa International every so often and checking out operations. Unfortunately our awesome airport doesn't have much variety on the commercial side. We're a hive of Southwest and Jet Blue with sprinkling of United, American, and Delta. I found a new spot to view just outside the airport perimeter next to runway 1R. Although not much happens on that runway, I did manage to grab a few decent shots. It wasn't ideal lighting since it was mid-day so I adjust my exposure accordingly. Thankfully there was some clouds to diffuse the sun just a little.
Here's a shot of a Southwest 737 in the new livery. I really like the new paint and logo. A far cry better than the old brown and orange planes.
Here's a stretched out 737 with United Airlines. Really like the angle you can get from this vantage point as the planes turn on to the runway.
I had to yank my camera back out of it's bag when I saw this taxi by. It's a Jet Blue A320 in a special livery for the NY Jets. Looks like they're the "Official Airline of the NY Jets." I dig it.
Commercial airliners aren't really exciting. Unless it's a special livery or an airline that doesn't fly in to your home airport, they all start to look the same. Don't get me wrong, I like being up close and watching airplanes. That's just the avgeek in me. Hope you enjoy these photos!
